Kadita

In the coastal villages of the Southern Seas, the legend of Kadita is told in whispers — a warning and a prayer in equal measure. She was once a princess of a prosperous fishing kingdom, beloved by her people and blessed with a rare gift: the ability to commune with the sea itself, to feel its moods and speak its language.

Her gift made her powerful. Her power made her enemies.

The court sorcerers, threatened by her connection to the ocean's ancient magic, conspired against her. They poisoned her with a curse that twisted her body and drove her from the palace, from her people, from everything she had known. She fled to the sea — the only place that had never betrayed her — and threw herself into the waves.

The ocean caught her.

Deep beneath the surface, in the lightless trenches where the oldest magic still sleeps undisturbed, Kadita was remade. The curse was not removed — it was absorbed, transformed, woven into the fabric of her new power. She emerged from the depths no longer a princess, no longer entirely human, but something older and far more dangerous: a vessel for the ocean's wrath, a goddess of the storm surge and the killing wave.

She returned to the palace. The sorcerers who had cursed her were never found. The sea does not leave evidence.

Now Kadita walks the Land of Dawn as both protector and avenger, her ocean magic a force of breathtaking beauty and absolute destruction. She does not seek a throne. She seeks only to ensure that what was done to her is never done to another.
